ABOUT US
The SOCAL-HOCKEY.COM Message Board was introduced in the fall of 2000 to provide a forum for discussion of issues of importance to Southern California hockey. Since then, it has expanded its geographical boundaries and become the biggest and most popular hockey message board in California. The Message Board has become an invaluable tool in aiding communication about events and activities, in encouraging spirited discussion about current events and topics of interest, and in fostering free expression about our favorite sport.
As with all open Internet forums, the Message Board is subject to the choices and discretion of those who post. Most people abide by our RULES AND GUIDELINES and use good judgment, common sense, and basic human decency in composing and publishing their posts. Periodically, however, there are those that cross the line and, for whatever reason, feel compelled to use profanity or make potentially defamatory or threatening posts. WE DO NOT CONDONE THESE ACTIONS!
While we try to maintain a good relationship with CAHA, SCAHA, and other governing bodies, they are not affiliated with this Message Board. Nothing should be considered “official” on this site unless such information has been conveyed or published directly by these organizations. Further, CAHA, SCAHA, and other governing organizations have no control over the topics or posts on this Message Board. Please do not blame them or complain to them about any topics or posts.
There invariably will be posts on this Message Board that challenge decisions and rules of CAHA, SCAHA, and other governing organizations, publish incorrect or incomplete information, or otherwise are perceived as offensive or detrimental. When this has occurred in the past, these organizations periodically have requested that certain posts or topics be deleted. While we have and will continue to reasonably honor requests from these organizations to delete posts or topics where our RULES AND GUIDELINES have been violated, we remain committed to providing a forum for open and free public expression.
We work hard to maintain the integrity of this Message Board by allowing free expression within appropriate and lawful bounds as set forth in our RULES AND GUIDELINES. If you believe there is an inappropriate topic or post, please do not hesitate to e-mail abuse@socal-hockey.com or to contact one of the moderators or administrators. Additionally we encourage you to click on the "Report" button to send a message directly to the moderator for their immediate attention. Monitoring of the Message Board is done entirely on a volunteer basis. We check when we can, but we cannot possibly review all messages as they are posted. We need and encourage your help in keeping this Message Board within our RULES AND GUIDELINES.
If you feel the need to consider, threaten, or take legal action against the Message Board, we strongly encourage you to first read our DISCLAIMER in full before you proceed. The law protects public expression forums such as this Message Board, and provides important legal remedies against those who wish to stifle or inhibit speech on such forums.
